Grants
Request for Proposals -
Better Together
Proposals due October 1st
Since 1991, the Wabash Valley Community Foundation has been providing grants to non profit organizations in Clay, Sullivan and Vigo counties. After reviewing hundreds of proposals, it appears that many of our nonprofit organizations share similar challenges whether it is related to capital improvements, transportation, program expenses, audience/client engagement, and staffing. Given that the Community Foundation cannot fund each organization for these matters in a significantly meaningful way, the Community Foundation has decided to allocate significant funding of up to $50, 000.00 to fund one or more projects or programs that address one or more common issues facing a collaboration of nonprofit agencies.

Terre Haute Day Nursery
One of Terre Haute's oldest organizations, the Terre Haute Day Nursery Association established an endowment fund dedicated to providing for child chare needs in Vigo County and the Wabash Valley. Previously the Terre Haute Day Nursery Association operated a day care facility in Terre Haute. It was stashed in 1893 and closed in 1997. The members of the Day Nursery Board determined they could best fulfill their mission of providing day care for children in need by creating an endowment fund in the Community Foundation. The Terre Haute Day Nursery continues its more than 100 year tradition of community service by having an active membership that reviews grant proposals and requests for funding benefiting the children in our area.
