Partners: Terre Haute Day Nursery

One of Terre Haute's oldest organizations, the Terre Haute Day Nursery Association established an endowment fund dedicated to providing for child care needs in Vigo County and the Wabash Valley. Previously the Terre Haute Day Nursery Association operated a day care facility in Terre Haute. It was started in 1893 and closed in 1997. The members of the Day Nursery Board determined they could best fulfill their mission of providing day care for children in need by creating an endowment fund in the Community Foundation. The Terre Haute Day Nursery continues its more than 100 year tradition of community service by having an active membership that reviews grant proposals and requests for funding benefiting the children in our area.
