Sullivan County Community Foundation Accepting Nominations for Volunteer of the Year
Nominations Due February 16, 2010
Volunteers play a vital role in the success of most not-for-profit agencies and have a significant impact on the quality of life in a community. Is there an individual in your organization who, without compensation, has made a significant, long-time contribution of his/her time and talent to make our community a better place to live? If so, the Sullivan County Community Foundation would like to offer you the opportunity to recognize someone special for its 2010 Volunteer of the Year Award.
Nominees will be honored publicly at a dinner on March 16. The organization nominating the winner will receive a check for $2,500 to use at its discretion.
To submit a nomination, simply write a letter of nomination (maximum of 2 pages) to the Sullivan County Community Foundation. The letter should explain why you feel this particular individual should be honored as “Volunteer of the Year”. It should describe the nominee’s history of service and role within your not-for-profit organization as well as any other volunteer activities that he/she has undertaken. Sullivan County Community Foundation current board members and spouses are not eligible for nomination for this award.
