Purpose of the Coalition
The mission of the Wabash Valley Long-Term Disaster Recovery Coalition is to strengthen area-wide disaster coordination in the affected area including Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties by sharing information, simplifying resident access to services, and jointly resolving cases with disaster-caused recovery needs. We seek to respond to needs not met by relief systems such as FEMA, Red Cross, Small Business Administration and other disaster recovery programs.
This committee shall be a Coalition operating under the 501 (c) 3 tax status of the United Way of Wabash Valley.

Available Positions
Case Management Supervisor
This is a full time position compensated at approximately $30,000-$40,000 annually per receiving grant funds. The appointment contract is for 1 year, but will be reviewed to determine length. The Case Management Supervisor will be an independent contractor.

Case Manager Volunteer
The job of the case manager in long-term recovery after disaster is to identify homeowners and renters and their needs and connect them to resources, working with the long-term recovery coalition to do whatever is necessary to get them back on their feet. The case manager works over the long-term with survivors to make an in-depth assessment of their needs in order to determine which are disaster-related and then to help the homeowners and renters develop a recovery plan.
The case manager's relationship with homeowners and renters is as an advocate, and the
development of the relationship is as important as the client's need.
