The Foundation was incorporated and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity in 1991. The growth of this organization has been tremendous. Currently, the Wabash Valley Community Foundation has endowed assets exceeding $24 million with more than $3 million in expected contributions from planned gifts and grants.

The Community Foundation is designed for one primary purpose: to receive, invest, and manage charitable contributions as permanent endowments according to the charitable intentions of the donors. Typically, the charitable gifts come from individuals, families, organizations, corporations, and other foundations. The income earned on the endowed fund is distributed each year for the purpose defined by the fund creator. The Wabash Valley Community Foundation Inc. is a wonderful vehicle to use in creating and developing a lasting endowment in the community.

Donate in Their Memory and Know They Will Be Remembered Forever-

When you make a contribution to an endowment fund in the Community Foundation in memory of a loved one, you are assured that your loved one will be remembered. His or her name will be added to the Foundation's memorial list where it will remain forever.

Youth Grant Committee Endowment Goal -

In the fall of 2007, the Community Foundation's Youth Grant Committee (YGC) embarked on a fundraising effort in which the Youth Philanthropy Initiative of Indiana would provide matching funds of up to $4,000 for the purpose of creating a permanent youth endowment. On May 12 of this year, the YGC successfully reached its goal, resulting in the establishment of an $8,000 permanent endowment fund that will benefit youth philanthropy in Vigo County... For good. For ever.®
